A clearer checkout payment step: card or bank transfer, each with its own timing

The payment card at checkout now follows the guest’s choice of card or bank transfer and says what they pay now and when. Staff set the timing per method.

A guest from the UK picks a villa in Kalkan for seven nights and reaches the payment step. The Payment card opens with one question, How would you like to pay?, and two choices: Card and Bank transfer. Each has a short note, such as “Pay now; your dates are confirmed right away.” or “We confirm first, then you pay.” Once the guest picks one, the rest of the card answers it.

Who is it for?

Villa businesses that accept card and bank transfer and want guests to know, before they book, what they pay today and what comes later.

What the guest sees

  • The method comes first. The question appears when your site offers more than one method.
  • A schedule in time order. A Today row shows the amount due now, or “Nothing to pay now.” Then come the first payment, for example When we confirm your dates · by card, and any dated payments, such as Prepayment · 30%. What is paid at the villa sits in one At check-in group: the remaining balance, fees due on arrival and a damage deposit if it is collected at check-in.
  • Wording that follows the choice. The page heading, the main button, a one-sentence summary and the Due today amount next to the price all change with the method. A guest who pays later reads: “You won’t be charged now. Once we confirm your dates, you pay … by card.”
  • Cancellation in plain words. With a non-refundable policy, the card says the prepayment is not refunded if the guest cancels.
  • A privacy line. Under the agreement checkboxes, a short sentence links to your site’s privacy notice. It is a link, not an extra checkbox.

Set the timing per method

In a booking policy, card payments and bank transfers each get their own choice:

  • Guest pays after you confirm the dates
  • Guest pays when booking (dates are confirmed after payment)

For Bank transfers there is also Same as card payments, the default. Existing policies behave exactly as before until you change it. Your bank details are shown only at the point you choose.

For example, take cards when booking and ask for bank transfers only after you confirm the dates. Each guest sees the right schedule for the method they pick.

Changes apply to new bookings; existing bookings keep the terms the guest agreed to. If a method is set to pay when booking, the policy’s payment schedule needs a payment above 0% due at booking.

How to use it

  1. Go to Settings → Booking Policies and click Create Booking Policy, or open a policy to edit it.
  2. In Collection and date confirmation, set Card payments.
  3. Set Bank transfers, or keep Same as card payments.
  4. Save the policy.
