Nearby places for every villa, with road distances
Add a beach or airport once in Settings. Every villa close to it shows it, with the distance guests will actually drive. Hide it on any villa you like.
Until now, “What’s nearby” meant typing the same beach, market and airport into every villa. Now you keep one shared list in Settings. Add Kaputaş Beach once, and every villa close to it shows it with its distance.
Who is it for?
Agencies with many villas in one area. One list replaces retyping the same places on every villa.
How it works
- One shared list. Keep beaches, airports, supermarkets, hospitals, marinas, sights and more in Settings. Each place has a name (with translations), a type and a pin on the map.
- Villas pick them up by themselves. Once a villa has its map pin, nearby places appear in its Nearby places section. Move the villa’s pin, or add, move or delete a place, and villas update right away.
- Each type has its own range. A beach appears on villas within 15 km, and each villa shows its nearest three. An airport appears within 120 km, one per villa. The range is shown under the Category picker.
- Shared details stay the same everywhere. On a villa, type, distance and name come from the list and are locked, so a typo is fixed once. You still type the walk and drive minutes yourself.
- Hide a place on one villa. Click the crossed-out eye icon (Hide for this villa). The next-nearest place of that type takes its spot, if one is in range. Show again brings it back.
Road distances for guests
On a coast, the straight line across a bay can be far shorter than the drive. So guests now see the driving distance under What’s nearby on your website. It is measured in the background after you add a place or move a pin. The compare page’s Distance to beach row uses it too, and a short data credit sits under the list.
Until it is measured, or when no road route is found, guests see the straight-line distance marked in a straight line, so it never passes for a drive.
Good to know
- A villa without a map pin shows no places from the list.
- The range is checked in a straight line; only the number guests see is by road.
- Places you typed by hand on a villa stay untouched.
How to use it
- Open Settings → Nearby places and click Add place.
- Type the Name and choose the Category.
- Paste a map link into Google Maps link and click Use link, or click the spot on the Location map. Only the pin is taken; you type the name.
- Add the name in other languages and click Save place. A message tells you how many villas show it.
- Make sure each villa has its pin, under Location → Arrival address and entrance pin.
To change a place, click its row. Delete place removes it from every villa.
