Villa Platform

Show the exact spot or only the area of a villa

Confirm a villa’s entrance pin in a guided Location step, then choose what guests see: the exact pin or an approximate area. The exact address stays private.

A villa in Kalkan does not have to show its exact door on a public map. For every villa you now choose what your website shows before a booking: the exact pin, or only an area around it. A guest from the UK then sees a circle and a short note: “Approximate area. We’ll share the exact arrival details once your booking is confirmed.”

Who is it for?

Agencies and owners who want to keep a villa’s exact spot private until a booking is confirmed, or show an accurate pin from the start. You decide villa by villa.

What it does

  • A guided Location step: Location in the villa editor has three parts: Destination, Arrival address and entrance pin, and Public map. Search the address, paste coordinates or drag the pin to the entrance guests should use.
  • You confirm the pin: tick I checked the entrance pin and address. If you later change the city, district, address, postal code or pin, the check is cleared and you tick the box again.
  • You choose the public map: Approximate area or Exact pin. Exact pin needs the check. If a checked villa is edited, websites show the approximate area until you check again.
  • On your website: an approximate villa shows a circle with a radius of about 1 km, no pin and no directions button. The villa lies somewhere inside it. An exact villa shows the pin and an Open in Maps button.
  • One public position only: the website gets just the position you chose to show. The street address and postal code never go to the villa page, and in area mode the real coordinates stay private too. Search maps use the same position and label approximate pins “Approximate location”.

Good to know

New, existing and duplicated villas all start on Approximate area. No villa shows an exact pin until you check its location and choose Exact pin. A villa without a street address can still be checked.

How to use it

  1. Open the villa and choose Location in its menu.
  2. Under Destination, choose the country, region and city, and the district if there is one.
  3. Under Arrival address and entrance pin, search the address, or paste coordinates and click Place pin. Drag the pin to the entrance. If an address is suggested, review it and click Use this address; nothing changes until you do.
  4. Tick I checked the entrance pin and address.
  5. Under Public map, pick Approximate area or Exact pin, then save the villa.
